A blonde ale that uses lager malts so as to allow the floral, citrus notes of the Saaz hops to come to the fore. The result is a refreshing ale that boasts tropical fruit and subtle hops.
The most famous of all the Joule's ales the pale is brewed with a blend of crystal malt providing a biscuity base and tipple malt providing a malty sweet caramel flavour. The crisp, clear finish is provided by th local mineral water and the special blend of hop flower gives the fruity, well rounded bitterness and slightly spicy aroma.
Our premium beer, full bodied with malty and nutty fullness, hints of caramel giving it a round, soft, satisfying smoothness. Monk is brewed with a very high proportion of crysal malt, this is malt that has been toasted so the natural sugar in the malt grains have slightly carmalised. This rich flavour gives the beer its deep copper colour.
